Jonathan Rosten is the Instructional Support Technician for the Electrical Engineering Technology program. He maintains, repairs, and calibrates all electrical laboratory equipment while also creating a safe working environment for electrical students.

Jonathan is also an adjunct lecturer for the Electrical Engineering Technology program and has taught Introduction to Electronics, Circuits and Devices for non-electrical majors, Electric Circuits Analysis1, and Power Electronics.

He is the creator and technical advisor for the Computer Optimized Scientific Mobile Observatory System (COSMOS), which is a six-wheel, mobile robotic platform, that students work on in their final year of the EET program. Jonathan is also the academic advisor for the Robotics Club, which is the first robotics club on campus. Jonathan’s work in robotics has him involved in all robotics projects for the EET program.

He holds Master of Science in Industrial Technology from SUNY Buffalo State University (Masters project: An Alternative Speed Estimation Method for Closed Loop Speed Control in Educational Mobile Robotics); Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology /Electronics from the same institution; Associate in Applied Science / Chrysler Apprentice Program from SUNY Erie Community College; Associate in Arts (Music performance / Percussion) also from SUNY Erie Community College.

He served in the United States Marine Corps (1992 – 1996) as a Corporal (Heavy guns weapons company / 2nd Battalion 2nd Marines 2nd Marine Division; Weapons platoon machine gunner / 1st Battalion 2nd Marines 2nd Marine Division).
